The wellbeing and safety of our guests as well as of our team are of course our major priority and concern. We will do everything to make your holiday unforgettable and offer you – despite all Covid-19 regulations – maximum flexibility.


The 7Bft KiteHouse updated all its cleaning and hygiene protocols to meet the recommended requirements of TÜV Nord, WHO & local authorities.

Pre-Arrival

・What do I have to bring for my vacation (Covid-19)?

You should pack sufficient and suitable mouth-nose protection (masks, scarf, shawl) and gloves for the duration of your holiday.

During your stay  

・Do I have to wash/sanitize my hands?

Respiratory viruses like COVID-19 spread when mucus or droplets containing the virus get into your body through your eyes, nose or throat. Most often, this happens through your hands. Hands are also one of the most common ways that the virus spreads from one person to the next. Therefore one of the cheapest, easiest, and most important ways to prevent the spread of a virus is to wash your hands frequently with soap and water.

Of course, you will also find hand-sanitize dispensers in all strategic spots throughout the KiteHouse. Before entering the restaurant, the bar, or before interacting with our staff or other guests, please disinfect your hands.

・As a guest, when do I have to wear the mouth-nose protection mask?

It is not mandatory for guests to wear mouth-nose protection masks. Nevertheless, we recommend it in case the minimum distance (1.5 m) can’t be guaranteed.

・Can I purchase a mouth-nose protection at the KiteHouse?

Yes. It can be purchased at cost price at the KiteHouse.

KiteHouse Bus  

・How do I get to the KiteHouse and back to the hotel?

Our free shuttle bus is running several times a day between the hotels and the KiteHouse. The bus is regularly disinfected and not all seats can be used so that the necessary minimum distances are observed. You will find the valid bus schedule at the reception of your Somabay hotel.

Reception  

・Is online check-in possible at the 7Bft KiteHouse Somabay?

Yes. You can already check-in online before arrival. Just send an email with the subject “online check-in” to 7bft@sombay.com. You can also use the online check-in form on-site with the provided tablets or your smartphone.

・What payment options are available at the KiteHouse?

We recommend paying cashless, i.e. with EC or credit card. Furthermore, it is possible to book the according amounts for KiteHouse services, shop and restaurant/bar to your room bill at all hotels (except Sheraton Somabay).

・Is the shop at the KiteHouse open?

The KiteHouse shop will be open. We ask all customers to wear the disposable gloves provided when you touch the merchandise and to keep the appropriate minimum distance to other guests and staff.

KiteHouse Services

・Are there group courses if I want to learn kiting?

In order to ensure that the distance rules can be observed, group courses will be offered with max. 2 students. When possible either radio helmets or “teaching boats” will be used during the lessons to allow the teacher to be as close as possible to his students while observing the minimum distance.

・Is the equipment for courses and rental material disinfected?

After use, the material that you were in direct contact with (such as bars, helmets, neoprene, etc.) must be cleaned by yourself. For this purpose, water barrels with disinfectants are provided.

・Do I get my rental equipment (kiting or SUP) as usual?

In order to ensure that the distance rules can be observed, max. 2 persons can enter the material distribution. Please follow the markings on the floor in order to keep a distance of 1.5 m.

・Can I kite with my own equipment as usual?

Yes. Just follow the markings on the floor in order to keep the minimum distance of 1.5 m. Furthermore, max. 3 persons can enter the guest storage at the same time. Your material should also be cleaned with the provided disinfectants after each use.

・How does the rescue boat service work?

In order to ensure that the distance rules are observed, only 2 persons can be picked up at the same time by the boat.

・Are speedboat activities offered?

“No wind – no problem” still applies. Wakeboarding, wakesurfing and water skiing are offered. In order to comply with the distance rules, a maximum of 3 guests (or 6 persons from one family) can be on the speed boat at the same time. The material is disinfected afterward.

・Can I buy photos of myself?

As usual, you can check your photos and you are welcome to buy them. Keep the minimum distance to other guests, while checking your photos. The mouse and keyboard are disinfected after each use of the computer.

HouseKeeping  

・What additional steps are taken by housekeeping in relation to Covid-19?

Special cleaning based on the Covid-19 hygiene rules will be applied.

・Which disinfectants will be used?

All disinfectants are based on the Covid-19 antivirus regulations.

・How often will public areas (restaurants, toilets, etc.) be cleaned?

The cleaning-frequency for the public areas has been increased significantly. You can monitor the frequency of the cleaning process on the publicly displayed cleaning-schedules.

Restaurant  

・Do I have to wear a face mask in the restaurant?

Not mandatory – this decision is yours to make. Please make sure that the minimum distance of 1.5 m is observed.

・Can we eat together in a group?

A maximum of 6 family members can sit at the same table. Kindly follow the markings at the tables, in order to keep the minimum distance of 1.5 m to other guests. We recommend using the tables outside on the terrace.

・How can I get a drink?

Drinks can be ordered at the bar as usual and will then be served there. We ask you to observe the markings that serve to keep the minimum distance of 1.5 m.

・How often is the restaurant cleaned?

The restaurant is constantly ventilated. Tables, chairs and small items on the tables are disinfected with every table change.

・What additional measures are being taken in the restaurant area in relation to Covid-19?

Staff in the kitchen and restaurant will be working with mouth-nose-protection and gloves.

・Can board games be borrowed or kickers used?

Of course. However, it is your responsibility to disinfect the games yourself before and after each use.

Outside guests  

・Can I also use the KiteHouse as a guest from outside of Somabay?

No. The KiteHouse currently offers its service exclusively to Somabay guests

The above rules and regulations are as per 08.07.2020 and will be adapted according to potential new governmental decisions.
